Just what did Jerome Corsi hope to achieve?

Republican strategist Dr Jerome Corsi, must be all smiles. The drama that his mission to Kenya has attracted is just what he might have been dreaming of.
In his (mis)advised wisdom, the conspiracy theorist, whose latest sole pre-occupation has been to pen a series of anti-Barack Obama texts, this time around, opted to bring the war to the doorstep of his pet subject’s fatherland.
Unfortunately for Jerome, the resultant furore may not have created the impact he so wished to strike — thanks to the united resolve by Kenyans, particularly the Government, to stop the American from perpetuating his smear campaign on our soil.

Just what did Jerome hope to achieve? And why did he opt on Kenya in Africa, to launch his anti-Obama book “Obama Nation”? Why not in Uganda, Nigeria, South Africa? And what about the timing?

His daredevil actions were deliberate. It can only be that he brought the electoral war to Kenya to stir up some captivating ugly drama. It is fearful to imagine what would have transpired had the Immigration officials not arrested the situation on time or had he staged his antics in K’Ogelo village — the rural home of Obama’s father.

With due respect to the veteran warrior of the pen, with two New York Times best selling books to his credit, he is free to pursue his partisan theories, but not at the expense of poor Kenyans.

Not by exploiting our recurrent political differences by twisting knives in our hurting flesh — yet to heal from the bloody post election violence.

And do I hear somebody point at the cheap ploy of handing “poverty-stricken” half-brother George Onyango a paltry $ 1,000 to prove to the world that Obama is irresponsible? I thought George has repeatedly mentioned that his abode in Nairobi’s Huruma estate is not a timber hovel and that he doesn’t lead a miserable life?

Obama’s father might be Kenyan but the Democratic presidential candidate is surely American. Kenya is not and will never be America’s 51st state. Jerome should respectfully retreat home and campaign hard for Republican candidate, John McCain. He can litter his homeland with anti-Obama graffiti (for a prolific writer, there is still plenty of time left) and spare Kenya the dirt.

Courtesy is a critical virtue in Africa. For as Okonkwo, the celebrated character of Chinua Achebe’s “Things Fall Apart” novel says, “when a man defecates at your doorstep, you break his neck!”

Thank for deporting the smear agent. These people treat black people like trash. Our accomplishment are not recorganised. Obama graduated at the top of his class at Harvard. McCain graduated at the bottom of his class. Who is a better candidate?

White lies are such stupid that they smile assuming others do not see through them. He thought he could buy Kenya and tarnish it. Obama is not Kenya and Corsi should not implicate our country badly. Good rindance Govt you got the crook!

I think What Jerome was doing was simply a PR gimick. He knew quite well what his actions would lead to and he quite expected Kenyans to react the way they did. Kenya, as well as many African countries is pretty predictable when it comes to politics: If you don’t support me, I don’t have anything to do with you. I think Jerome is seated somewhere on a couch sipping on some scotch, grinning as he watches CNN.

Before you write a story please get the facts right. Although he may be a conservative, Mr Corsi is NOT a republican strategist. He wrote a column in the WorldNetDaily on Sept 25, 2007 entitled “Why I am not a Republican”. I am surprised that you did not check it out before making the claim. We in America only want the TRUTH about Obama. Our constitution gives strict guidelines to those wanting to sit as President. We as AMERICAN citizens hold these guidelines sacred. If Obama has nothing to hide come forward with documentation. There is a lawsuit right now being brought forward and all Mr. Obama has to do is provide documentation but he would rather try to fight it out with lawyers that to provide his birth certificate. If he has nothing to hide why is he making things so hard. Check out the web sit at http://www.ObamaCrimes.com. And regardless what people think- the sky is not falling here. Things are bad but Americans are strong and have always bounced back from anything put before us.

Once again the Kenyan government is behaving like a banana republic. I thought we are a country that celebrates the fundamental rights of an individual, and in Jeromes case the freedom of expression. By preventing him from launching his book in Kenya, Jeromes fundamental rights have been infringed. He has been treated like a third class human being who does not enjoy the freedom to “access, share and retrieve information.” Kenyans should not allow this to take us along the lines of communist societies where giovernments sensorship is the order of the day. Any way who tell them that Obama needs their help? Obama is a decent and would not have roughed up Dr Corsi in the manner that those immigration hooligans did. CS Lewis said; “opinion is free but facts are sacred.” It time we prove to the rest of the world that we are a civilised society that has respect for civil liberties and would use legal means to seek redress when agrieved. This government has a bad reputation. This government once launched an attack on the Standard Media Group. It has now evicted Jerome.

Corsi’s arguments do not make sense in anyway. America is falling apart economically and you all know, when a country’s economy goes down it goes down with the people. Americans want to hear how the next president will change the image around the world and stabilize the economy. I have a message for Corsi: Kenyans are very smart people.

Dr Jerome Corsi’s mission to launch his book in Nairobi was malicious considering the timing. He got what he deserved. Just imagine what would have befallen him if he had attempted to do this in Kisumu Sunset Hotel. It was like pushing a stick into a beehive.
