President Kibaki has named former president Moi to be a special envoy in the region. According to the Kenyan foreign minister, Mr Tuju, Moi has agreed to take on the task given by the president.
The appointment will be seen as a recognition by Kibaki administration on Moi’s experience in solving conflicts in the region.
The foreign minister also announced that the government will soon make public a new foreign policy that will see the government reduce and redeploy members of staff working in the Kenyan embassies abroad.
