Kuresoi South lawmaker Zakayo Cheruiyot has dismissed as untrue claims that he’s engaged in activities on the ground aimed at promoting alleged ground-laying campaigns for a top Kenyan Government civil servant to run for the Nakuru County Governor’s seat come 2017.
The former powerful PS for Internal Security said the falsehoods are being propagated by Deputy Governor Joseph Ruttoh and a clergyman called Abraham Mutai among others yet they’re totally unfounded.
He said the claims have made Governor Kinuthia Mbugua concerned because Secretary to the Cabinet Francis Kimemia is the person alleged to enjoy Cheruiyot’s backing.
Commenting on word.doing rounds that he’s been earmarked to be Kimemia’s running mate, Cheruiyot dismissed it saying: “I’m I that cheap?”
Together with the county’s Education PS Joseph Tonui, Ruttoh is said to be readying himself to run against Zakayo in the next general polls.
