RAILA WILL BE IN THE BALLOT FOR STATE HOUSE OCCUPANCY

Posted by African Press International on August 17, 2007

Raila Odinga an adept politician seasoned in the days of fighting for political pluralism and democracy and earning several years in detention is at it once again. Indeed the politics of Kenya currently looks to flow like it’s taking a cue from Agwambo.

When Kalonzo Musyoka his main arch rival in ODM politics took charge of the party legally plus strengthened his capacity to control ODMKenya by moving on to Labour party of Kenya it is a good guess that many political watchers were waiting a bombshell from Raila. And Agwambo did not disappoint. His precisiveness and ruthless execution of what has come to be is not to be unexpected of a politician of his calibre.

Kalonzo like Raila has his strong points and weak ones. And it is not yet over for Kalonzo. One day in politics is a very long time. Also ignore Raila in the prevailing political dispensation at your peril! This guy is a consummate schemer, organizer, mobilizer, planner and campaigner!

That now he has what is generally viewed as the original Orange
Democratic Party has given Raila a new impetus. We are in for an exciting and heated political campaign period in the run up to the general election. This not also to forget that there can be shrewd political forces trying to pull fast moves to destabilize his new found party. But this to anybody’s guess is already Raila’s political radar.

Love him, fear him, admire him, loathe him, stare him, get entertained by him, but Raila has made an indelible political history in Kenya. And he looks keen to make more history in his shrewd political campaigns and schemes. The battle for state house has just gotten a new direction and you can’t rule out Raila making a good showing if not a win or a good position. Despite the rampant and heated tribalism in Kenya he is a candidate to keenly watch.
