CEMAC billed in Ndjamena on 25th april

Ndjamena (Chad) The 8th summit of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC) is billed in Ndjamena on 25 April, the Gabonese vice-premier in charged of the cooperation and regional integration , Jean Ping, announced on Saturday afternoon following talks with Chadian President, Idriss Deby Itno.

The summit, which was initially slated for 17 March, was postponed under the pretext of “case of absolute necessity”.

“Chad is expected to host this important CEMAC summit where we will discuss extremely important issues, particularly the review of the community’s institution”, the head of the Gabonese diplomacy said.

According to Mr Ping, the Ndjamena summit will further tackle issues related to sub-regional security, particularly in the Central African Republic (CAR) where CEMAC’s soldiers are deployed.

He also said Gabonese President, Omar Bongo Ondimba, who had asked for the postponement of the CEMAC summit, vowed to attend the coming one along with his Congolese counterpart, Denis Sassou Nguesso.

The CEMAC comprises Cameroon, Congo, the Central African Republic, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, and Chad.
