Another Nigerian Military General Takes Over Liberia Army

The Liberian Government has announced the appointment of a Nigerian Army General to serve Liberia as its Commander-In-Chief of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL),

Major General S.A. Abdurrahman replaces his compatriot, Lt. General Luka Yusuf who served in this position for over a year.

The colorful ceremony was witnessed by the country’s high military profile individuals and some members of the United Nations Military Mission in Liberia (UNMIL).

Major General Abdurrahman who holds a philosophy  Degree in Arch from Heriot-Watt University in the United Kingdom thanked the Liberian government and people, and the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria for his preferment.

The Liberian President during the program thanked the outgoing CIC, General Yusuf for what she called his “fine job well done” during his tenure as CIC in Liberia, and conferred on him the Honor of Distinguished Service.

She also thanked him for performing his duty and building bridges between Liberia and Nigeria, and described him as a reflection of the appreciation of the bNigerian Government and also thanked the West African state.
